  • Each participant must attend all 4 sessions
  • There will be a maximum of 8 participants per workshop to ensure sufficient attention is given to each participant’s signing skills
  • You will need a device that will allow you to connect to Zoom, a PC or laptop; a mobile phone is not suitable for this training
  • All supporting documentation for each online session will be emailed in advance to participants
  • On completion of the workshop, participants will be able to collect their resource manuals and Level 1 & Level 2 certificates from KidsFIRST Medical Center Dubai

During the online workshop, you will learn and practice effective signing techniques, as well as understand the research behind the Makaton Language Programme.

Used extensively in the UK, British Makaton is a unique language programme which offers a structured, multi-modal approach for the teaching of communication, language and literacy skills for children and adults who experience a broad range of communication and learning difficulties.
Course Includes:
  • Begin using the signs and symbols from Stages 1 to Stages 4 and the Additional Stage
  • Learn and practice effective signing techniques, including how to use signs fluently in everyday functional activities; supported with video examples.
  • Learn the design themes behind Makaton symbols, how to draw them, and gain practical experience using them
  • Practice and further develop fluency and confidence in signing
  • Consider how you will use Makaton in your own setting and share your experiences with others
  • 2 comprehensive resource manuals
